Teri Joy’s Story

Teri Joy’s Story

All of us have a story.

I would like to share my story with you so you can know about me – the woman who was inspired to write the devotionals you are about to read and listen to on this website.

As a child, I thought about God when I looked at a statue of Jesus in our home or when our family went to church each Sunday. I thought I knew all I needed to know about God.  Years later, I was married and I was content. I had a husband who provided a comfortable home and the blessings of two daughters.

Then God intervened.

As I sat in church one Sunday, I looked up to see Jesus on the cross.  Then the Lord spoke the words “Why did He have to die.” Those words went directly to my heart. That was the first time I heard God’s voice, but it would not be the last.

Things started to happen.  A neighbor invited me to church. I was invited to a women’s prayer group and was shown how to start a relationship with Jesus. One woman invited me to a Bible study. Another woman witnessed to me about her healing.

I had started my new life in Jesus.

It was early in my faith-walk that I heard the word “healing.”  That word has been a guiding light that has led me to seek healing physically and emotionally for myself and other women.

I believe that God’s healing is a foundational principle for my personal prayer life, the Devotionals on this website, and my ministry to women.

God continued to equip me in this calling when I attended a conference.  It was there that I received a most precious gift from God. It was a new name.

God said, “I am changing your name to ‘Teri Joy’.”

This was something I did not truly understand at that time because I did not see myself in that way.

Today. as I look back, I see the perfect timing of God.  Our family went through a difficult health issue, and God knew we would need His strength to go through it.

As we prayed for direction, God gave us the same answer many times.  He answered us with the verse of Psalm 46:10; “Be still and know that I am God.”   God knew this was going to be an extremely difficult time for us and we needed His direction.  As we just did what was before us each day, the path to take was always made clear.

The outcome of that experience lasted for years, and still impacts me today.  When trials arose, I remembered how God got us through the health crisis and that built hope in my heart that He would do the same again.  As I let hope take root, I was able to choose joy.

I know God will do the same for you.

So, I am passing on to you, my Beloveds, every good thing God has taught me about Himself as well as my thoughts from the 35 years of faith.

My heartfelt prayer for you, my Daughters, is that as you read God’s Word and wait for Him to speak to you, and as you experience the love your Heavenly Father, your Savior Jesus Christ, and your Comforter Holy Spirit have for you, you will be moved to a place of deeper intimacy with Him and a deeper awareness of yourself as His precious Beloved Daughter.

Blessings to all,

Teri Joy
